There are tons of people searching directly on Youtube for videos and Google actively promotes Youtube videos in their searches.

Sorry guys…I always try to tell you the cheapest, most free way to get the job done and get leads.
But, You can’t fake video quality. AND bad quality videos just don’t get results.
There is just no way around it. You have to invest in a quality camera/video recorder. I suggest investing in something like this:
This camera comes with a tripod and all the things you will need to make your videos. Or you could try a Go Pro HERO.
I’ve tried using iPhone apps…and other cheaper cameras. It works fine for photos because you can shrink the photos and edit them. But video is different.
Quality just simply matters more.
You need quality video. And the cool thing is once you have these videos up on the web they live forever. Plus, I’m going to show you some cool tips to film these yourself.
So, go get your camera/video recorder if you already have one. Or invest in one if you don’t. And see you at step #2!
How often do you go to the gym? When do you do laundry? I’m terrible at those two things. And my guess is that a fair number of you are too.
The best thing I can suggest when it comes to making videos is doing it regularly. You can have the best video in the world. And no one will see it if you only post one video.
There becomes an echo effect if you commit to a schedule and publish multiple videos. Typically, you will see steady growth through the first 5-8 videos. Then somewhere close to video 10 you’ll breakthrough! 🙂
One of your videos will make it and get seen.
Consistency is a great thing for business. You do not want to go viral! You want consistent steady growth. And, over time, these videos will become a valuable asset to your business.
Ok…so this was the part that I was scared of. I didn’t want to ‘mess up’ on video. So, I’m going to try to make this as simple as possible.
The first step in making sure you don’t mess up and building confidence is to outline the video. You really don’t want to do a bunch of editing…(really you don’t). So here’s a bullet form to plan your video:
1) Who Do You Want To Watch Your Video:
2) What Do You Want Them To Do/Think After Watching The Video:
3) Outline a 30 second Intro
4) Outline 3-4 minutes of content
5) Outline a 30 second conclusion
Keep your videos simple and short. I’ve found that 5 minute videos are perfect for real estate.
Now that you have your script, try recording the video with as few ‘cuts’ as possible. If you’re doing a school tour or interview, do the intro, then navigate into the main content, and then work yourself back into the video for the conclusion.
If you avoid cuts, you will make more videos. And get more exposure. And get more leads.
For editing, I recommend the following:
Honestly, I suggest only clipping out the bad sections and trimming the ends.
Finally, you’ll want to save your file from iMovie or Windows into a .mov or .mp4. This should be a save file setting in the program.
After you do that, go to Youtube.com and click upload. It’s next to the search bar on most computers.
You will then want to fill out as many details as possible! The title should be descriptive of your video. But be sure to include 250-500 words in the “Description” box.
The first sentence should include a link back to your website. Secondly, you should type around 200 words describing the video and what it includes. Finally, include links to your Facebook, Twitter, and any other network you are on.
That’s it! Congrats! You’ve just completed your first video. Post a link to it in the comment section below.
The key to getting these videos highly ranked on Google is getting them over 100 views. Your sole goal when not recording should be getting all your current videos to have over 100 views. Try emailing it to all your friends and ask for their opinion. Or, here’s a cool social marketing schedule you could try:
I hope you’ve enjoyed this article, if so, email it to all the Realtors you know. You have no idea how much I appreciate your support!
