Trust me. I’ve tried all sorts of crazy link building ideas. They don’t work nearly as well as writing and sharing.
So have you ever read a magazine? Their titles are pretty catchy right? They make you want to read more!
That’s because they have formulas. They know what’s going to work before they publish. You want to know that too!
Thankfully, there is an tool that lets you do this!
Look at this article by Keith Hiscock & Kyle Hiscock, The Top Articles Of 2014!
The article highlights tons of articles that are immensely helpful. But best of all, they’re already proven to be successful. These articles were shared tons of times on social media and other Realtors liked them. If you study these pieces, and then base your own off of them you’ll be good to go!
Don’t just copy what they already wrote, however. Make it better! Add something about your local economy to the posts. Or maybe make the post take a different side of the arguement. Whatever you do, follow this advice by Donna:
@easyagentpro @donna_tribe My suggestion would be to stay real, stay connected and share helpful information. You just can’t go wrong. — Adrienne Smith (@AdrienneSmith40) February 12, 2015
When it comes to blogging, you aren’t cold calling. The mentality is different. You have to help people make solid decisions. This goes to what you share in social media as well:
@easyagentpro Don’t always sell sell sell…offer informational posts until you build a solid relationship before you offer anything. — Donna Merrill (@donna_tribe) February 12, 2015
One of the best Realtors I know at this is Bill Gassett. Look at this post he made last year:
This post only gives value! Think about what it could do for you on your website. If a buyer found this on social media or Google, would they trust you more? Would it be easier to have a presentation with them? Probably! Also, are you looking to grow your team? Having blogs like this make it easier to be different than all the other Realtors out there. Or, look at this article by, Lynn:
This type of post gives so much value to people who might have so many questions when it comes to buying and selling real estate! Giving value is something that is next to free online. You don’t have to pay for mailing or even printing. You can start writing on your site today and the costs so much more affordable than what they were even 10 years ago.
Here’s the thing with blogging for leads, you’re running a marathon. This takes a completely different mindset than other forms of lead generation.
You can’t just write one post and expect to go viral. There are ways to make this marathon easier. For example, you can follow this tutorial and get articles written for your website:
iWriter costs less than $10 per post! I really don’t recommend doing this until you have a few posts that you’ve actually written on your website.
When it comes to blogging and creating content, keep it local!
Look at this by Andrew at Great Colorado Homes:
I bet there is nowhere else on the web that you can find information like that about Colorado real estate. That is immensely helpful to buyer and sellers in that market. You can also create content that reviews local information such as restaurants and new attractions. Both of these things add value to people who might be living or moving to your area.
This can really boost your trustworthiness as a newer real estate agent. If you’re becoming a real estate agent, consider starting a blog or website now! You can even start it before you’re done with your licensing exam. The trust and knowledge that the website helps convey to your potential clients is fantastic!
