We’ve successfully made LeadSites get a 90+ score on Google Page Speed Tool.

This is from our demo/testing site:

This means that LeadSites is considered fast by the defacto speed testing tool on the web.

And this is great news for LeadSite users!

Here’s why –

The Need For Real Estate Website Speed

How much does real estate website speed actually impact your bottom line?

Well, quite a lot.

Take a look at these statistics from Kissmetrics:

  • 47% of online consumers expect websites to load in 2 seconds or less
  • A one-second page load delay can reduce conversions by 7%
  • 40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load

This means that if your site is slow, even by a single second, you are at risk of losing both site traffic and conversions.

Believe me, we feel the pressure as well!

Lagging load times can also result in poor search rankings.

Google always takes site speed into account.

So, a slow website means low search results.

And this can really affect the organic traffic coming, or not coming, to your real estate website.

When it comes to real estate website speed, every second counts.

Here’s what we’ve got coming your way to ensure your LeadSite is lightning fast.

Coming Up

We’re continuing to improve speed on both ends of LeadSites.

If you’re a LeadSite user and want to see how your website scores around 90% on Google, here are some things to keep in mind.

You should see speeds in this range if:

  1. You do not have a video homepage. If you have one of these, toss a blog article into the speed test tool.
  2. You have optimized images. We’re working on an automated solution to automatically optimize all images on our network. But, it’s not ready yet. If this concerns you, contact [email protected] or optimize your images yourself. You should see speed scores like this.
  3. Google Analytics & Tracking Scripts: Google analytics and Facebook tracking scripts are not cached. This means they will ding your score.
  4. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer): If you have an SSL, you’ll notice your score is 2-3 points lower.

UI Kit

We’ve redone our entire backend with an emphasis on speed & consistency.

You’ll notice a lot of the buttons and input fields look different.

This new UI kit will help us ship uniform looking features quicker in the future.

It will also enable us to compress and combine some files later this week/early next to speedup the backend.

What’s UI?

This stands for user interface.

And is one major way we can improve the LeadSite user experience.

Really though, all you need to know is that your site is going to be faster than ever!

We’ll be posting more updates here on our blog very soon!
