Standout or Starve With Real Estate Agent Loida Velasquez
We had the pleasure of speaking with Loida Velasquez on how agents should go about standing out from the crowd. If you're not standing out you're not making money.

We recently had the extreme pleasure of co-producing a video with our friend Loida Velasquez. If you haven’t had a chance to go see the video I’ll put it right here for you.
Before I get into the enticing analysis of that video and Loida’s advice on standing out, I’m going to link to her social networks and website right here.
Go check them out when you have some time.
She’s doing some awesome stuff!

Now, let’s jump right into the topic of discussion!
There are a lot of agents (regardless of where you’re at) to compete with.
So, standing out in comparison to that large number of agents is extremely important when it comes to the long-term success of your business.
Let me break down some numbers locally.
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico so…..
Which comes out to….
Have I put things into perspective yet?
You literally cannot make a living on 18k a year!
Meaning if you don’t stand out and increase the amount of that share you’re getting you can’t make a living doing this.
So, assuming you want to make more than 18k a year let’s talk about what you can do to separate yourself from the pack.
Agents all over the country have finally reached a point where they are embracing the necessity of having a website.
However, so many of them still fall into the online business card category.
If you don’t have a site that prioritizes lead capture and brand promotion you’re missing out on business.
Maybe you were late to adopt a website and online strategy.
There’s still plenty of time for you to get ahead of the curve however with video.
Right now videos are being prioritized in just about every social networks and digital medium you can come across.
Not convinced?
Check out how this agent landed 2 offers after only 1 week on the market using video.
Why did this work for him so well?
Not only is Facebook prioritizing video uploads but, very few agents in his area have started using it.
As Loida said in the video, communication is key to a successful transaction.
If you communicate routinely and promptly with your clients they’re happy with your service.
If they’re happy with your service they’re more likely to recommend you right?
Not only does communication make your current closing process easier, it also sets you up in a positive light for the future.
This opens you up to receiving quality testimonials, referrals… you name it.
The next piece of advice Loida had for us had to do with coming across as the “go to” local expert.
How do you come across as an expert?
You have to be prepared for every possible situation.
She mentioned the importance of repeatedly practicing your scripts/objection handlers.
Now, this doesn’t mean you have to know the answer to every single question you get.
However, it does mean you need to be as prepared as possible and confident enough to address situations that you don’t yet have an immediate answer to.
Loida actually suggests you try to do some client agent role play scenarios to practice your scripts and improve your delivery.
Coming across as genuine certain and confident as possible helps your client feel at ease.
I believe the previous two points contribute to this pretty significantly as well.
How you present yourself to your client will make a huge difference in the experience both you and your client have.
This not only applies to your in-person encounters but to your digital presence as well.
Make sure there’s consistency across all the different platforms you’re using in your marketing strategy.
If your Facebook looks great, but your website is disorganized and unappealing there will be a big disconnect in the experience you’re offering your potential clients.
Great info but what do you do now?
Here’s a unique little system you can implement to start yourself on a path that will separate you. Go out and talk to your friends, your neighbor, your kid’s soccer coach. Ask them what types of questions or concerns they have when it comes to real estate.
Take the top 5 most common responses you get and go make content in the form of a blog post or video that answers those questions or concerns.
Remember guys if you’re not standing out you’re not going to have a successful business. So keep on cranking out content, and looking for new and unique ways to reach your potential clients.
