Today’s “In The Lead” show focuses on how to pick between real estate niches.
Jeff Lucas from Murfreesboro, TN asked:
“Hey, I’m wondering if there is a way to market to public safety folks. I have 20 years of law enforcement experience and am not sure how to use that to my advantage.”
…And this is a great question!

The thing is:
We all have a past and hobbies! Everyone has worked some past job before starting in real estate or has something that they’re super passionate about in their spare time.
These often times create nice starting points for finding a deeper niche.
Let’s look at Jeff’s scenario:
He has instant credibility with almost any public safety or law enforcement institution. Also, he has expertise that runs deep in the subject matter.

Some marketing ideas include:
- Writing down a list of helpful real estate resources specifically for public safety officials
- Offering free courses or presentations to public safety officials about real estate investments
- Providing weekly video tips for law enforcement
- Securing backlinks from key public safety websites nearby to help boost SEO
- Donating a percentage of commission back to public safety related charities
- Co-Marketing with public safety centers:
- Create events that promote community wellness and safety
- Co-sponsor a career day that gives children a look at various professions
The ideas can be endless once you start start looking for ways to provide value to public safety professionals.
