The most overlooked aspect in real estate marketing today is real estate Copywriting.

Copywriting really can improve the overall results you get from your real estate marketing efforts.

Think about it:

  • What if every email you sent converted more?
  • And every phone call sold more?
  • What if changing what your admin says could make a 10% difference?

A BAD real estate listing might look something like this:

Great Starter Home! This beautiful unit is situated in a great school district and a city park. Enjoy luxurious space with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. This is a great property that won’t last long on the market…

A BETTER real estate ad might go like this:

Elegant Hill-Top Living with City Views

Step into a living space that balances modern sensibility and down-home comfort. Enjoy an open kitchen, natural sunlight from large windows, a soaker tub, and generous closet space in the master bedroom…

See the difference?

The first listing sounds like EVERY other listing out there.

It’s full of expected, common, boring phrases.

But the second listing description tells a story and uses words and phrases that are unexpected in a real estate listing. Words like “elegant,” “generous,” and “down-home” are far less common that “great” and “beautiful.”

So your listing gets noticed.

And once your listing gets noticed, you win a huge part of the battle.

Now, you might not think of yourself as “a writer,” but the truth is that real estate agents have to write, whether they want to or not.

All day long you’re writing listing descriptions, texting, sending emails, updating your website, posting to social media…

Like it or not, you’re ALREADY a writer.

Doesn’t it make sense to educate yourself on how to be a more effective writer?

Shouldn’t you explore using the writing you’re already doing to close more deals?

And getting better at writing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Simply start with a few easy resources like this article: 5 Tips To Sell Like Hell – Real Estate Copywriting

Or this resources from Copyblogger: Copywriting 101
