Have you ever tried to merge onto a busy highway?
Well…
It maybe stressful, but we can all probably agree on one thing:
Someone will eventually let you in.
This example of fairness, and of someone doing something to help another is called:
Kantianism Fairness
Click here to read a long wikipedia article about this
Basically:
Kant says someone will let you on the highway, (even though it’s not in their best interest) because we generally believe the person will pay it forward in the future.
We like to do nice things as humans.
But
Guess what?
This doesn’t happen in real estate.
No real estate broker or agent is just going to GIVE you a deal. Or let you onto the real estate highway for free.
Think about it this way:
- If you stopped doing deals right now, how many of those deal simply would happen without an agent?
- Who would have done your transactions so far this year if you weren’t an agent?
Both these questions point out that real estate is a crowded highway… ever deal in your market will have an agent attached to it.
The real question is…
Will you be the agent whose name is on the deal?
