What you’ll often find on real estate agent bios is that the Realtor tries to outline the USP (unique selling proposition) for their business.

In addition to helping your company separate itself, you’ll want to provide the “Why” behind your business.
For example, why are you a Realtor? Is this a family business? Or do you just like helping people find their next home?
Your real estate agent biography is a great place to communicate your why with web visitors. Take a look at Google’s:
In addition, you’ll find that having your biography will help your overall real estate SEO or Google rankings. For example, when you search Andrew Fortune, the owner of Great Colorado Homes, you’ll see his about page and bio are very high on the search results:
Compare this to an agent who didn’t take the time to write their about page. What shows up for these agents? Typically, you’ll find that Zillow, Trulia, or Realtor.com showup above any website owned by that Realtor.
This means those big portals will be getting traffic that is searching Google for you. Then, this traffic will convert into leads on their website. And they will sell those leads right back to you AND your competitors.
People are searching for you. What do you think they are doing in that 10-15 minutes right before you show up for the listing presentation?
They are Googling your name like crazy.
When people search for you, it’s useful to get control over what they see and make it a positive impact.

It’s a lot easier. They already feel informed about why to do business with you. And it happened through a self-discovery process.
It clarifies your brand: A real estate biography can also help provide clarity to you as a Realtor. Why should a person outside of your sphere of influence do business with you?

One of the best things you can do is create a real estate bio and then update it semi-annually.
You can create a calendar reminder to update your bio and I think you’ll find the task a lot less daunting if you see it as a process and not the end result.

Microsoft started just for one small nerdy niche of computer builders in Albuquerque.
Everyone starts small! Use that to your advantage!
