We all like to make New Years Resolutions. One that I’ve frequently made is simply to read more books. This past year I’ve read 23 books. That is up from previous years. But I really want to beat that number this coming year.
So, in true business fashion, I’ve made a spreadsheet and assigned a book per week. This will help me keep on the rigorous pace of reading 4 books a month. Want to know a secret about reading? Most business books are terrible.
For those 23 books I read this year, there were over 12 additional books that I simply put down before halfway through. To hopefully save you some time (…and money), I’ve written some of the best books for real estate agents below.
I challenge you to buy one of these books today and use the tactics discussed in it to better your real estate business.

This book is highly valued by all those in real estate. Trainers, coaches, and professionals all praise “MREA” as the most helpful read for real estate agents. In My List Of The Best Books For Real Estate Agents, I’ve placed “MREA” at the #1 slot. It is very hard to beat the successful and timeless suggestions found in this book. If it has been over 6 months since you’ve last read this book, buy a copy or dig up your old copy now. The author, Gary Keller, is one of the founders of Keller Williams which has trained some of the most successful Realtors in this country. You really need to own a copy of this book if you’re a Realtor.
I credit E-Myth with taking my business to the next level at least 3 times. Michael Gerber’s timeless classic shatters the perception of owning a small business and shows the reader what it can be. He uses great stories to show the potential pitfalls in your current business. And helps you find ways to grow your income. By the end of the book, you’ll also be finding ways to work less in your business.
The biggest problem for me and one that Realtors often talk with me about, is that they struggle with finding ways to work fewer hours. E-Myth doesn’t just show you how to build your business so that others can effective work for you, it inspires you to start building your business this way today. Your bookshelf of the best books for real estate agents isn’t complete without it!
E-Myth will have you taking your business to the next level in a matter of days. Buy it today and start designing a business that requires fewer hours from you.
What is the #1 thing you care about in your business? Do you have just one? If not, pick up this book. Essentialism shows you the value of focus.
As a small business owner, I need to focus. There needs to be clarity. Otherwise, I’m thinking about accounting when I should be doing marketing. And I’m thinking about marketing when I should be accounting. This book by Gerg McKeown breaks down how to do this as a business owner in 2014 clearly. He shows various ways to improve every business owner’s life. This is one of the best books I’ve read yet. You will want to grab a copy and add it to your book shelf of the best books for real estate agents.
Because it’s a lot easier to get listings and have leads coming to you if you look like the authority figure online in real estate. This book will also help you establish your business as the authority figure. It is important for any serious business owner to find a means of establishing credible authority in their market. Nathan Barry will help you do this through reading this book.
Think deep about the following question: Why did you start your company?
Was it for fame, fortune, challenge, or did you simply like real estate… No matter the answers, you almost certainly considered the freedom of time in path to becoming a Realtor business owner. Unfortunately, studies show that this freedom simply isn’t enjoyed by an overwhelming majority of Realtors.
We’re rounding out our list of the best books for real estate agents with Built To Sell. Why? Because a real estate company is only as good as it can sell. John Warrillow will help you establish clear and definitive selling systems in your business that will boost two things. 1) Your profitability and 2) Your free time.
