How To Add 100’s Of Followers On Instagram In Real Estate
Wondering how to use Instagram in real estate? Today, we talk about one way to add 100's of followers on Instagram with just minutes of work.
Facebook has been in almost every one of our posts recently.
Now, even though Instagram is owned by Facebook it’ll be nice to discuss something else for a little bit.
But, Tyler isn’t the biggest fan of Instagram or SnapChat. So, I figured I’d hop on the blog to walk you through the basics.
We’re going to discuss the 3 things we did to build a presence there without spending a single dollar, follow us for daily posts @easyagentpro.
Every other social network really has very little to offer you in the way of an immediate return.
An argument could be made for networks like Snapchat or Twitter regarding social listening and developing client relationships.
If that’s the argument you’d like to make feel free to tweet me @kelvinkrupiak. *I’m sure Tyler will.*
I’ll read all 140 characters and digest your argument, but I stand by that statement.
The problem with those networks is both the analytics they offer and their advertising metrics are, shall we say, lack luster?
The beautiful thing about Instagram is that they now give you access to a business related account where you can connect to Facebook and display your contact info (very useful for agents).
They also give you access to ad strategies similar to those on Facebook.
We’ll get into advertising another time.
Today we’re talking about organic growth on Instagram.
On lots of social networks you really have to pay to play but there’s still plenty of potential in Instagram that you can tap into without spending a dollar.
If you look at our profile the first 20 or so posts we really had no idea what we were doing.
We were posting thumbnail images or short videos all trying to get people to one link in our profile.
Since then we’ve established a sense of consistency.
The idea was there the execution just fell a little flat.
You might be in the same situation right now.
You could already have a nice following but you’re seeing mixed results and you’re not sure why.
You can see we were trying out a wide variety of posts, everything from blogs to motivational quotes to brief videos from Tyler.
Now let’s take a look at our posts from the last week or so…..
Looks like a completely different account right?
That’s because we found what works and shifted over to consistently providing what our audience wanted.
Consistency is important for any brand in any industry.
If you’re going to do graphics create a consistent theme.
Feel free to add some personal flare to your account as well.
As an agent you can get away with adding some more personality to your accounts.
Not only is there consistency in our design elements now, but there’s consistency in our timing as well.
We post every day after 5:30pm to reach the largest amount of people.
When you change your Instagram page over to a business account you’ll have access to metrics like the ones below.
This will help you discover what times are best for your posts to go up.
As the old saying goes if a tree falls in the woods and there’s no one around to hear it….you get my point.
Here’s some general guidelines to start you out with when you should start posting on Instagram.
Hashtags can be a guessing game on all social networks.
As a rule of thumb I stay away from hashtags on Facebook all together.
I use no more than 1-2 on twitter and usually that’s the extent of my hashtag use.
However, Instagram is quite unique when it comes to hashtags.
On average, posts with 9-11 hashtags receive the most engagement.
Now, that doesn’t mean slap whatever hashtags come to mind on your post.
You need to research which ones have the most relevant meaning as well as which ones have a valuable amount of posts already for you to get in on.
Let me show you what I mean….
We use those 20 hashtags consistently, 9-11 is the average across Instagram as a whole.
Feel free to add new ones on different posts to see how it impacts your reach.
Also go ahead and use the hashtags we’re using I promise we won’t mind!
Notice we have a balance of broad hashtags mixed in with more specific hashtags.
For example #realestate has over 4 million posts, while #realestatebroker has 85 thousand posts.
It’s actually a lot like keywords, you want a good balance between broad terms and terms with more of a narrow focus.
Those lower volume hashtags will produce some more immediate results for you, much like choosing the right keywords would on Google.
This one might seem pretty obviously but I can’t stress how important it is to step up the quality of the images you’re posting!
You can take some really high quality pictures with your smart phone and you can also find some really great stock photos for free.
We actually put together a list of free stock photo sites too so be sure to check that post out.
Another tool you can use to make sure you’re putting up the best quality images possible is Canva.
Create a free account in minutes and get going!
That’s all we had to focus on to add 100’s of followers for free on Instagram!
It takes 10-15 minutes a day to establish a presence on here and I promise you it’ll be worth it.
