If you’ve been considering getting on Instagram, now’s a great time.
To get you started, let’s review the three steps you need to take in order to gains 100’s of followers.
The three things you need to master in order to gain a massive following on Instagram are:
Sounds simple enough, right?
Let’s run through each of these again to get a better idea of what you as an agent need to commit to doing with each post.
If you’re seeing mixed results on your account – perhaps you’re losing more followers than you’re gaining or seeing an inconsistent amount of likes per post – take a look at your past content.
Do you post around the same time each day?
And what do your images look like?
You want to post visually appealing content not just often, but consistently.
You can start experimenting with this by posting at different times for a few weeks and tracking engagement.
This will allow you to see at what times during the day your audience is most engaged.
Also take note of your most-liked posts.
What do the images have in common?
Use these kinds of insights to attract more quality followers.
You should also commit to switching your account from personal to business next year.
This will grant you access to all kinds of different analytics and more concise ways to track your progress and achieve your goals.
Next, let’s talk about #hashtags.
Unlike Facebook, hashtags actually have a really legit. purpose on Instagram.
Instagram uses hashtags to categorize content.
You can use tags such as #realestate, #realestateagent, #realtor for much broader search results, or narrow it down to get more specific results.
Something like #MovingToAustin may not get a ton of traffic, but it will show you specific accounts to engage with that may yield greater results in the long run.
It’s actually a lot like keywords, you want a good balance between broad terms and terms with more of a narrow focus.
Those lower volume hashtags will produce some more immediate results for you, much like choosing the right keywords would on Google.
Of course, Instagram’s main feature is the images and short videos that are shared.
It’s going to take more than timing and the use of a few hashtags to make your brand flourish on this platform.
You need to figure out what makes your page unique.
And the easiest way to do this is through the content you share.
All of your visuals should be eye candy.
Engaging images attract viewers and will keep them coming back for more.
